Today we are very happy to be featuring our first wedding by the talented Pen/Carlson. Sam and Dave were married this past October in Chicago and are a wonderful example of how couples can make great use out of the resources found in a city. Their day started at the St Mary of the Angels church and finished at the Harold Washington Library, which in addition to being an amazing venue also had significance for the couple. From the bride: “I knew that I wanted to have a classic, elegant wedding and to use ivory, gold, and black as my color scheme. Also, because our wedding reception was at Harold Washington Library and because I am an English teacher, I knew that I wanted to subtly play upon the library theme without going overboard. We decided to incorporate the library theme in our invitations by designing the response cards to look like vintage due date slips found in library books.” THE VENDORS Photography: Pen/Carlson | Ceremony Venue: St Mary of the Angels | Reception Venue: Harold Washington Library | Dress: Anne Barge | Shoes: Badgley Mischka | Bridemaids’ Dresses: Amsale | Hair: Diana Monteleone | Makeup: Carley Martin | Floral: Water Lily Flowers | Invitations: Spilled Ink Press | Music: DJ Megan Taylor | Wedding Day-of-Coordinator: Anthony Navarro
